i know thats what I said. the 6.2′s have a nicer sound. but unfortunately it is not all about fuel consumption it is about sound laws and how cars have to have lower sound and it also has to do with fuel consumption laws. my dad has an S63 and that’s what the salesman said. but i can assure you that their is no turbo lag so if you were thinking of getting one don’t let it discourage you his s class still? has great sound and performance!

I’m more of an NA guy myself, but? haven driven the new CLS63 I never once noticed the lag involved with turbo charging on some of the newer twin turbo engines you can say the same about lower end turbo charged cars from Mercedes and BMW. The C250, and 328i are pretty much lag free with their 4 bangers. The turbos aren’t churning out large amount of pressure and doesn’t require much exhaust pressure? to spin the turbines. It’s not an Evo trying to churn 300-350 HP with a small 4 banger.

Please bring back the M156 6.2L engine. The new 5.5L needs turbos to output the same power and that means very annoying turbo lag. No one who has the money to buy an AMG Mercedes? cares about fuel consumption
